UNIFIED BASIC SALARY ADJUSTMENT/ 2026
On December 15, 2025, the National Council of Labor and Wages, following several tripartite meetings attended by representatives from the Government, workers, and employers, agreed to set the Unified Basic Salary (SBU) for general workers at US $482.00 (four hundred eighty-two and 00/100 United States dollars) for the year 2026.
This measure will take effect from January 1, 2026, and applies to general workers, including those in small industries, agricultural workers, maquila (assembly) workers, paid domestic workers, artisans (craft sector operators), and employees of microenterprises.
The Ministry of Labor is expected to issue the corresponding Ministerial Agreement in the coming days.
